Updated: Feb 3, 2021

Ready In: 30 mins Serves: 6 Cuisine: Japanese

Ingredients:

· 6 Chicken Thigh

· Salt

· Black pepper

· 6 tbs of Soy Sauce

· 2 tbsp of Brown Sugar

· 2 tbsp of Honey

· 1 tbsp of grated ginger

· 2 cloves of garlic, chopped

· Green onion (optional)

· Sesame seeds (optional)

Preparation:

1. Salt and pepper both sides of the chicken thighs to your liking

2. In a medium-sized pan, turn on the heat to medium-high and add oil to the pan.

3. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken thighs skin first and let it cook for ~4-5 mins on each side.

4. Once the chicken is golden-brown remove it from the pan and set aside.

5. Mix the soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, ginger and garlic together in a bowl to form the teriyaki sauce and pour the mixture in the pan and let it simmer for around 45 seconds.

6. Add the chicken thighs back in the pan and let the chicken cook for about ~4-6 minutes. Keep pouring the sauce over the chicken to make sure it does not burn.

7. Once the chicken is fully cooked, remove it from the pan and serve with green onion and sesame seeds! Enjoy!

Tips & Suggestions:

· Pairs very well with rice or noodles!

· Cooking time of the chicken may vary depending on the size of each portion.

· Be careful of the hot oil sizzling in the pan!

· For a more traditional Japanese teriyaki sauce, you can also add 2 tbsp of Mirin for extras sweetness and 2 tbsp of Sake.

· In place of chicken, you can also use salmon, tofu or beef!

Enjoy cooking!

Sincerely,

Victoria Banh
