Kimchi Fried Rice
Ready In: 30 min. Serves: 1 Cuisine: Korean

Ingredients: (Approximately $15.00 CAD)
· Rice (1/2 cup)
· Kimchi (1/4 cup)
· Bacon (1/4 cup)
· Green Onion (1 handful)
· Onion (1/4 cup)
· Sugar (1 Tablespoon)
· Cheese (1 big handful)
· Egg (1)
Preparation:
1. Make some rice; day old rice is best (follow instructions on the bag if you don’t know how)
2. Heat a pan on medium high heat and cook bacon until it’s almost fully cooked.
3. Add in all the veggies (kimchi, green onion, onion) and cook until the onions are translucent.
4. Add in sugar to cut the sourness of the kimchi
5. Add in rice and cook until rice is full coated
6. In another pan, fry an egg until you think it’s done
7. To plate, add your rice into a bowl and sprinkle some cheese on top. While the cheese is melting into the hot rice, place your fried egg on top. Enjoy!
Tips & Suggestions:
· Bacon can be easily replaced with any type of protein (chicken, tofu, spam, etc. ); I just happen to have bacon
· Add whatever veggies you like (carrots, corn, etc.)
· Cheese is totally optional
· If your kimchi is in big chunks, use some scissors to cut them into small chunks
· If you want more flavor, add some soy sauce and sesame oil (add these in step 4)
· If you want more heat, add some Korean red pepper paste (gochujang)
Sincerely.
